Har målat hela veckan för att bli klar med mitt final independent project. Det fick bli den vita duken som nu blivit målad på. Och några andra målningar som jag inte kunde bestämma mig för om de skulle vara med eller inte.
Det var en fantastisk sista lektion. Vi hade gruppkritik av vårt arbete med mycket intressanta reflektioner och diskussioner. Och alla hade utvecklats så mycket. Tjejen som förut målade tulpaner hade nu ballat ur och målat stort och abstakt. Men fortfarande i väldigt tjejiga färger vilket en i klassen utbrast "I hate pink, it's so girlie". Då hettade det till lite i klassrummet. Tjejen som hade gjort den sa "but pink is my favourite color". Det ledde dock till en intressant diskussion om kvinnlig och manlig konst.
Hade sen också ett avslutande samtal med min professor då jag tackade för att jag fått audita. Han gav mig lite cred och tyckte jag skulle fortsätta måla. Det tog jag gladeligen emot, behövde lite selfboost den dagen. Frågade också om jag kunde få ta hans andra kurs i vår vilket han sa ja till.
Nu är jag bara velig för det finns så många intressanta kurser. Valet står mellan:
The Art of Dying en teologisk kurs jag inte vet mycket om förutom att Lauren Winner håller den, vilket skulle vara intressant.

Considers how artists expressed dissent from the status quo in response to a variety of social and cultural movements and political positions through a large range of media, styles, subjects, and exhibition venues addressed to a variety of audiences.)

Experimental Art and its Ethics Since 1945 covers all major avant-garde movements of the post World War II era, and concentrates on the conceptual and theoretical impact they have had on the social, political, and cultural conditions of this period. In the aftermath of the atomic bomb and the Holocaust, the capacities of art to express the ethical dilemmas of humankind were questioned. Nevertheless, artists responded to those unprecedented events with coherent and powerful works, and again after September 11th 2001. We will examine the moral, ethical, political, and social exigencies of art, from the existential aftermath of World War II to identity politics, from HIV/AIDS, rape, incest and child abuse to pornography and scatology, from the state’s destruction of art to the dilemmas of the post-biological age of genetic engineering; and we shall accomplish this goal through the systematic study of the stylistic development, changes in media, and conceptual orientation of the avant-garde from 1945 to the present. The ethical dimension of this course will consider how the discipline of art confronts cultural concepts of good/bad and right/wrong, how principles of conduct governing aesthetics are carried out in art and its institutions, how standards of behavior, character, or the ideals of character are portrayed in art, and how all of the answers to these questions effect society and culture.)
EXPERIMENTAL COMMUNITIES en kurs som jag får hålla på med ett eget måleriprojekt tror jag.
(An interdisciplinary seminar structure will be used to collectively and individually examine visual culture in relation to experimental social structures. Readings across the academic spectrum will focus on alternative corporate models, secret societies, workers’ unions, social networks, cults, neighborhood associations, anarchist communes, relational art practices, minority alliances, reality TV, fan clubs, art collectives, and fundamentalist organizations. Students will be encouraged to balance theories of social change with actual historical and contemporary practices. Experiential research may be used to produce formal experiments of a social nature. Class productions may include interdisciplinary productions, research papers, performances, theater works, social actions, videos and new media works, as well as conventional visual or non-visual art forms. Projects may be executed at the university, in neighboring communties, or far beyond. Work will be judged by its formal sophistication or aesthetic merits, its social or political relevance, and its engagement with methods of ethical inquiry studied throughout the semester.)

Jag lutar åt att kanske strunta i konsten att dö och fokusera på konsten bara. I så fall kanske ta en av konsthistoriekurserna och sen foto och målerikursen. Men det måste begrundas.

??? tycker att du skall satsa på att måla och baka. Jag satt häromdagen och funderade på en sak, är Homer ett riktigt namn i USA eller har författarna till Simpson uppfunnit det? Kan ni kolla i typ telefonkatalogen eller ringa operator?

Nä jag tycker du ska ta "the art of dying". Fatta snyggt namn på en kurs! Undrar vilket som är det rätta: dö ung och vacker eller dö gammal och god? Det kommer du att veta om du går kursen.

Lovsen var har du varit? Long time no hear. Jag haller med - valdigt vackert namn pa en kurs som kommer ge svar pa mycket men ar det for mycket teologiska termer kanske jag inte hanger med.
Jag håller med Lovisa, inte för det snygga namnet utan för Laurens skull (eller snarare för din skull, fatta vad läckert att gå en kurs för Lauren även om hon inte levererade särskilt bra med sin sex-bok, men resten - snälla gå den och anteckna/spela in och dela med dig!)
